[Hovering Bird]
鳥類中最小で、金属光沢のある美しい羽色で知られるハチドリ。 毎秒50〜80回も羽ばたき停空飛翔（ホバリング）出来る唯一の種である。
今回報告された事例では、ヘリコプタ-同様に羽根（ロ−タ−ブレ−ド）
を使って空中停止し、本来の翼は広げたまま静止している。 どうも翼端部がソ−ラ−パネルになっているようだ。
花の蜜を吸いに来たのではなく、充電しに来ていたのである！

[Hovering
Bird]
Hummingbird is the smallest of all kinds of birds, known for its
beautiful metallic colored feather. It's the only species that can
hover from 50 to 80 times a second. The latest report says another
new type was discovered that hovers with rotor blades the same as
a helicopter, while the original wings are spread still in the air.
The top of the wings seems to be covered with solar panels. It came
here not to suck the nectar, but to charge the battery. Wow! The
flower is gleaming! |
